    Eric Micheletti(Author)
Long before the beginning of the Second Gulf War, the Special Forces and other clandestine teams of the Coalition's various services were already operating in Iraq.

This spectacular new book shows these highly specialized teams in action, fulfilling their missions well ahead of the arrival of the conventional forces. Even today the Special Forces, mainly US and British, are waging a merciless war against terrorists of all kinds who proliferate in Saddam's former empire.

The book is profusely illustrated with hundreds of shots taken at the heart of the action on the ground in Iraq, showing all the clothing and equipment used by the Special Forces.

Eric Micheletti's previous book from the"Raids Magazine" group at Histoire & Collections, Special Forces - War against Terrorism in Afghanistan, was a huge success here when it was published last year.

I bought this book after I got the previous one on the war in Afghanistan. The latter was a hard cover version of an special volume done in French by the editors of Raids. This one about Iraq is an attempt to follow the path set by the predecessor. I had good expectations.I wanted some reference for military modelling and a bit on the history of the campaign but I found that the pictures and the content were not as good as that in the Afghanistan one (sorry to keep refering to that book)so if you wish to buy a book on special forces with a lot of pictures as reference for your military modelling do buy the previuos volume of this author (SF in Afghanistan)I also realised later that the pictures on this book about the war in Iraq can be found in the web easily, in forums and other sites. The lack of information and pictures about other countries that participated in the events is something that surprised me as I take that the author knows what he is talking about so it should have been a valuable addition to expand the content with information about more SF from other countries.I was not happy with this book buy so I am marking it down.
